The Best Family Resorts in Seminyak (2026)
Seminyak has plenty of hotels that call themselves family-friendly, but only a few do kids well. Alila Seminyak is my top pick for most families, thanks to its suites on the sand, a family pool and a proper kids club. You can see all the other options below.
Before you book, know that Seminyak’s beach is a surf beach. Little kids can dig in the sand, but the pool is where they’ll swim, so I’ve judged every hotel on its pool. If you want calm water, look at Nusa Dua or Sanur instead.
The drive from the airport takes about 30 minutes, or up to an hour in afternoon traffic.
Seminyak splits into three parts, and where you stay decides how far you walk to the sand.
- Petitenget. The north end, with the beach clubs. Alila is here, right on the beach.
- Central Seminyak. The Legian is on the beach, with Eat Street and Seminyak Square a short walk inland.
- Double Six. The south end. Hotel Indigo is on the beach, and the Courtyard and Blu-Zea are a 5 to 10 minute walk back from it. The beach clubs are a ride away, and I don’t think that matters with kids.
Alila Seminyak
If I could book one hotel in Seminyak with kids, it’s a suite at Alila. You’re right on the sand with the pools facing the sunset, and dinner’s a short walk away. It’s my top pick for luxury in Seminyak too.
Every suite has a built-in queen bed that fits two kids. I’d book a Deluxe Suite in the main building, close to the pools.
There are several infinity pools, and the family pool is the one set further back. The Play Alila kids club takes kids up to 12, and under-3s need an adult with them.
The catch: the standard Deluxe Room is two adults only, so a family of four has to book a suite. Skip the ground-floor Terrace Suites too. They open onto the adults-only pool, which is lovely for a couple and no good with kids.
The sea out front is rough, so don’t count on swimming in it.
Book it if you want the beach, the sunset and a kids club in one place and will pay for a suite.
Skip it if you've got toddlers who want a calm beach to paddle at.
Courtyard by Marriott Bali Seminyak Resort
If a suite at Alila is out of budget, this is the one I’d book. It costs far less than the beachfront hotels, and it’s built around one big pool that kids can spend the whole day in.
The lagoon pool has a swim-up bar for parents and a separate kids’ pool for the little ones. There’s a kids club too, with a ball pit, crafts, gaming and Balinese dance.
For a family of four, book the Deluxe Family Room. It has two queen beds and sleeps four. It’s snug once the suitcases are open, so with three kids or teenagers I’d go for the Two-Bedroom Suite, which sleeps five and has its own living room.
The pool-view and pool-access rooms look tempting, but they only take three people.
The catch: it isn’t on the beach. The sand is about a 5-minute walk away, or take the free shuttle to the hotel’s spot on the beach. The rooms are also starting to show their age, and the walls let noise through.
Book it if you've got under-12s and want a big pool and one room for four, without paying beachfront prices.
Skip it if you want to walk straight from your room onto the sand.
Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach
Hotel Indigo is the liveliest family hotel in Seminyak. I like it most for kids aged about 6 and up, who’ll get stuck into the activities.
There’s no kids club, but there’s a free programme every day, from coconut weaving and egg painting to bike rides. There’s a kids’ pool, and the beach is a short walk away. The breakfast spread is a big hit with kids too.
The catch: the rooms. A standard room takes 2 adults and 1 child under 12, with one extra bed or cot at most. A family of four needs two interconnecting rooms or a villa.
Ask for interconnecting rooms as early as you can, as they’re never guaranteed. The Two-Bedroom Villa has its own pool and takes four adults and two kids.
The soundproofing is poor too. I’d ask for an upper floor, as some ground-floor rooms are damp.
Book it if you've got older kids who'll love the daily activities and you're happy to book two rooms.
Skip it if you need a drop-off kids club or one room for four.
The Legian Seminyak, Bali
The Legian is the grown-up choice, and it handles kids better than its reputation suggests. Every room is a suite facing the sea, and the three-tier infinity pool is the best-looking pool in Seminyak.
There’s no kids club, but the Kids Studio runs sessions every morning and afternoon, like treasure hunts and making bamboo offerings. There’s also a playground and a kids’ menu, and lifeguards watch the main pools from 7 am to 7 pm.
For a family of four, I’d book a two-bedroom suite. Kids under 6 stay free in a cot or your bed, and older kids pay for an extra bed.
The catch: there’s no drop-off kids club, so you’re with the kids most of the day. The Studio Suites can’t take an extra bed either, so skip them with kids.
It’s a calm, quiet hotel. It suits school-age kids who can sit through a nice dinner better than toddlers.
Book it if you've got school-age kids and want a big suite on the beach and polished service.
Skip it if you want a kids club so you get some time to yourselves.
Blu-Zea Resort by Double-Six
Blu-Zea is the cheapest way to get a proper resort pool in Seminyak. If you knew it as The Breezes, it’s the same resort under a new name, on the same street as the Courtyard.
The pool is the reason to come. It steps down over four levels, with a swim-up bar and a sandy “beach” edge where little kids can sit in the shallows. Older kids get a basketball court, table tennis and a snooker table.
For four, book an Interconnecting room. It’s two rooms joined by a door, with a king and two singles, and it sleeps up to six. Every other room type takes only three people.
The catch: the kids offer is thin. There’s a small Kids Corner, but it isn’t a full kids club, and there’s no separate kids’ pool. With under-5s, I’d pay up for the Courtyard.
It’s also a pain with a pram. There’s only one lift, and the bridge over the pool is steep, with steps. The bathrooms are dated, and the pool bar gets loud until 10 pm.
For a family of three, I think it’s the best deal in Seminyak.
Book it if you're a family of three, or your kids are old enough to just want a pool.
Skip it if you've got toddlers, a pram or kids who need a proper kids club.
A few I’d skip with kids
W Bali – Seminyak. The rooms take two adults and two kids, but house music plays all day and the beach in front is rough. With teenagers it’s great fun. With small kids, I’d book Alila.
Desa Potato Head. The beach club crowds and the music make it a hard place to settle little kids. There’s a kids’ session on Sundays, and that’s about it.
The Seminyak Beach Resort & Spa. I love the beach rooms, which open straight onto the sand, and the 45-metre infinity pool. But there’s no kids club, and it’s not set up for young kids. It’s a better fit for a couple.
The Samaya Seminyak. The villas are lovely, but there’s no kids club or kids’ pool, and the private pools are about 1.4 metres deep. It’s one for couples.
So, which one should you book?
- The one I’d book: Alila, in a Deluxe Suite.
- On a budget: the Courtyard, in a Deluxe Family Room, or the Two-Bedroom Suite if you’re five.
- A family of three watching every dollar: Blu-Zea.
